Arrange for a
personal consultation that will effectively focus on your
personal taste, needs and budget.
You will want
to consult professionals that have been in the business for
a number of years and are able to identify your needs and
propose effective design solutions.
Make sure that
you make an informed purchase that will see you get the most
quality for your purchasing dollars.

Your decision should
take into account the quality of the products offered and
the guarantee that these products carry. Remember, custom
window coverings are an investment. They should provide beauty,
function and a lifetime of enjoyment. If these three considerations
are met, then you are indeed making an informed and well thought
out decision.
We encourage you
to consider the following before making your purchase. The
need for:
Light
Control
Protection
from damaging U.V rays
Unique
applications, for example, powerization or motorization
An effective design consultation should address all of the
above.

Today's interiors
are seeing a trend towards a softer look in window fasions.
Soft shades such as the Silhouette
and Vignette have replaced the harsher
look of metallic blinds.
There is an abundant
use of fabric. Fabrics are used in layers, starting with a
soft, sheer bottom layer, followed by heavier weight full
length drapery panels, which often puddle on the floor in
a lavish display of excess.
There is an abundant
use of trim, whether it be an opulent bullion fringe, cording
or tassel fringe, that coordinate magnificently with the colours
and the textures of the fabric they adorn. These trims will
often be accompanied by large, decorative tassel tie-backs.
There is great
emphasis on detail. Again, this is achieved by the extensive
use of trim, but also through the use of contrast banding,
at the inner edge, or the use of cording or piping at the
edges and bottom of the drapery panels, the application of
a skirt-like addition to the bottom of the drapery panels,
and so on.
There is also
a tendency toward the use of different types of drapery headers
instead of the often used pinch pleated heading. More frequently
used today are decorative medallions or hooks to hold drapery
panels in place. As well, there is the tendency to choose
less conventional drapery headings. Instead of the often used
pinched pleat heading, we are more frequently favouring the
use of shirred headings or goblet pleat headings.
There is a great
use of decorative hardware. This is commonly true of the decorative
rods currently in use. They are either wood or iron and come
in a variety of interesting finishes. They are accompanied
by finials, brackets, sconces, and decorative holdbacks that
add to the unique quality of each drapery treatment.
There is a resurgence
of the use of roman blinds. Roman blinds are very versatile
in that they can be made with almost any fabric and can therefore
combine well with coordinating fabrics to achieve a fully
coordinated look. Also, they can be lined to provide light
control. And, using a more efficient liner, they can totally
block incoming light. This makes for the possibility of roman
blinds being used in almost every room of the house.
